Compeition Clutch - Performance Clutch Kits

 
Competition Clutch Performance Clutch Kits are the answer to harness your Honda S2000's horsepower! Competition Clutch Kits are available with all parts required - including pressure plate, clutch disc, clutch release and pilot bearings as well as alignment tool. These clutches are street, strip and track proven!
 
ScienceofSpeed uses Competition Clutch Stage 4 and Ultra Light Flywheel in our Time Attack S2000!
 

 
Clutch Offerings:
 
STAGE 2:
The clutch is the perfect solution for high performance Honda S2000s. Our supercharged and turbocharged customers prefer this clutch for cars that are street driven with occasional track/strip use. The clutch features a full face Carbon Kevlar / organic friction liner. It features a clutch pedal with a moderate pressure increase (about 15%) with a very easy engaging feel. We use this clutch in cars producing up to 380-400 wheel horsepower.

(recommended) This is the clutch we recommend for most of our customers - it's the best for your street/track S2000.
 
STAGE 3:
This clutch features increased torque holding power by use of a segmented Carbon Kevlar disc. Engagement is a little more static than stage 2 and features a clutch pedal with a moderate pressure increase (about 15%). However, please note that this clutch requires an extended break in time of 500 miles or it will not function properly. Due to this, we recommend customers use the stage 2 clutch or upgrade to the stage 4 version if wheel horsepower will exceed 380 horsepower.
 
STAGE 3.5 "IronMan":
This clutch is very similar to the next stage 4 clutch in design but uses a proprietary iron/carbon friction liner. This clutch is features engagement that is smoother than the ceramic liner used in stage 4 but holds approximately 30% less torque.
The unique friction liner makes it able to withstand increased heat from slipping making it an ideal choice for drag strip driven vehicles.

(recommended) This is the clutch we recommend for our customers that drive their cars at the drag strip often. The slight premium in price is worth the friction liner's capability in handling slipping.
 
STAGE 4:
This clutch features holding power of up to 250% over stock. This clutch features a 6 puck ceramic button plate and features a clutch pedal with a moderate pressure increase (about 15%). This engagement of this clutch is more static (meaning it grabs much hard when engaged) than stage 2 or 3, and works best in a car driven mostly on the track.

(recommended) This is the clutch we recommend for our customers that use their cars mostly on the track and have higher horsepower engines.
 
STAGE 5:
This clutch is capable of holding torque 300% greater than stock. However, the engagement is much more static, and we recommend this clutch for cars used exclusively on the drag strip.
 
STU.jpg (32973 bytes)Don't forget the flywheel! The clutch kits listed are all compatible with the factory flywheel. The factory flywheel should be inspected for cracks and always resurfaced if it is reused.
