Replacement rear toe link addresses the
issue with bumpsteer - reported to us by our customers as the
"twitchiness of the rear end while cornering".
Bumpsteer refers to the dynamic
movement of the tire in our out relative to the centerline of the
vehicle (also known as toe-in or toe-out) during suspension movement
(see diagram).
The effect is that the rear wheels are "steering out" under suspension
compression during cornering. This effect is pronounced on cars lowered
beyond the factory ride height.
This design changes the pick up point of the rear link to correct this
issue. Two variation of the design is offered. A "street" and "race
only" design. The street design uses a factory rubber bushing on the
chassis side while the race only version uses rod ends on both
suspension and chassis side. The race version has no vibration and noise
dampening and is recommended for race use applications only. |
