The innovative OS Giken Limited Slip
Differential combines the advantages of a helical gear type differential
with a clutch pack differential. Maximum torque can be transferred to a
corner's inside wheel increasing traction and cornering speed. The OS
Giken LSD is manufactured using the highest quality materials and
technology. A 28 clutch
pack with large friction discs allows smooth power transfer and a balanced chassis
while allowing the differential to be able to transmit maximum power
with minimal power loss due to heat build up.
Differential gears are hot forged which improves strength and allows
miniaturization allowing larger clutch friction discs to be used for
maximum torque holding capability. Multiple clutch pack allows for
minimized mechanical sound during differential lock and dis-lock
(although some sound during low speed cornering is typical of a
performance designed LSD).
The OS Giken differential also features a US-patented spring lock-timing
adjuster which allows for differential locking to be adjusted for
different track conditions and configurations.
The OS Giken LSD
includes a 4.44 final drive gear set including countershaft, ring gear,
and oil pump gear resulting is improved acceleration (increased from the
factory 4.06 ratio). This final drive gear set is unique and proprietary
to the OS Giken differential. The OS Giken differential is required in
order to install the 4.44 final drive.
Available for 5-spd and 6-spd NSX. 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 way locking
configuration is available. 1.5 way allows the best response for off and
on acceleration locking for road course use.
The OS Giken LSD and final drive is compatible with all years and will
not affect EPS system on later model 6-spd. |
