ScienceofSpeed Sport Clutch & Flywheel

 

The ScienceofSpeed Sport Clutch for the NSX offers factory like drivability with an increase in performance capacity. 

 
 

Perfect for the customer looking for a clutch that is easy to drive like a stock clutch, but wants more of a performance edge.

drivability:
With an emphasis on drivability, the clutch pedal pressure is minimally stiffer than the stock clutch (about 5%) and engages very smoothly.

performance:
The clutch offers increase power capacity, and a much lighter assembly than the factory clutch. The clutch is rated for 350 lb/ft of torque at the engine - which translates to approximately 400-450 horsepower making it ideal for most supercharger applications and many turbocharger applications. However, the clutch is equally at home on an all stock engine as well as a engine with light modifications. Including a light flywheel, the clutch and flywheel assembly is much lighter than factory clutches - 11 lbs compared to the 1991-96 factory clutch assembly and 19 lbs compared to the 1997-2005 factory clutch assembly.

The ScienceofSpeed Sport Clutch consists of premium components manufactured in Japan by Honda's original parts supplier as well as components built in the USA. Only the most premium components are used. In addition, each clutch and flywheel assembly is individually dynamically balanced. The pressure plate is keyed into location so that it may only be installed the correct way.

 

The ScienceofSpeed Sport Clutch allows installation into any NSX year. The ScienceofSpeed Sport Clutch assembly includes clutch, flywheel, and bearings. No other parts are required for installation.

 
optional 6-puck race disc:
puck_sport_spread_800.jpg (143151 bytes)For customers looking for a higher capacity option, the Sport Clutch is available with a sprung 6-puck cerametallic race disc. This disc increases the torque capacity 50 lb/ft to 400 lb/ft at the engine - which translates to approximately 500-550 horsepower. With this disc, the clutch grabs much more aggressively than the Sport Clutch, yet, is smoother than other puck style clutches due to the sprung center hub. This clutch is ideal for primarily race / track use with some street use.
 
1997-2005 NSX: flywheel bolt set is required (sold below).
