Clutch Set

 

ScienceofSpeed NSX Clutch Set

 

 

The ScienceofSpeed Clutch Set is based on the OEM twin disc design. Increased torque capacity is achieved by an increased clamp load pressure plate and clutch discs with increased friction coefficient liners. The factory's low moment of inertia design (twin disc design allows the mass to be centered) is maintained retaining the NSX engine's quick spin up.

 
The clutch is rated for more than 350 lb/ft torque making it ideal for naturally aspirated or supercharged applications. The clutch pedal pressure increases minimally over stock keeping the factory clutch's ease of driving.
 
Unlike other rebuilds which have been sold in the past, this assembly uses brand new factory clutch discs. By using new discs, we are able to insure the integrity of the clutch's sensitive sprung centers. These discs are disassembled and new high performance friction liners are installed. The pressure plate is disassembled and clamp load is increased. The flywheel, mid plate, and pressure plates are sand blasted and machined to new standards. The assembly is then precision balanced.
 
This clutch is compatible with all 1991-1996 5-spd transmissions. It can also be installed on 1997-2005 6-spd transmissions with this modification.
 
This light flywheel can also be added to further reduce the weight of this clutch assembly.
