The standard Comptech Supercharger is
equipped with a adjusting tensioner. During acceleration, the
supercharger belt can lose traction on the driven pulley by this
adjusting tensioner loosing traction. This is caused by the tensioner
being placed on the leading side of the belt rather than slack side.
The Cedar Ridge "True Tension" locking tensioner adaptor simply
eliminates the adjusting tensioner and converts the pulley system into a
rigid tensioner system - just like how the NSX comes from the factory.
The system retains the tensioner screw and adjuster so tensioning can
still be performed like a standard Comptech Supercharger. The block is
machined from 6061 aluminum and hard anodized black.
This block is a must for "high boost" setups - and works equally well on
standard Comptech Superchargers. This system is compatible with both
Autorotor and Whipple based supercharger kits.
Note that because this system decreased belt slip, boost pressure may
increase. It is ideal to have the car dyno tested to verify the car is
properly tuned. |
