Direct replacement for factory crankshaft
pulley. ScienceofSpeed recommends replacement every 9 years or 100,000
miles (whichever comes first). Factory crankshaft consists of an inner
and outer steel pulley bonded with an rubber bushing. Rubber bushing
deteriorates with age and can cause pulley to separate. Pulley
separation can result in the timing belt cover cracking resulting in
catastrophic engine damage. Several reports of engine damage have
resulted from pullies failing.
As an added level of protection, we offer this
pulley shield to help
prevent a failed pulley from damaging the engine.
