ScienceofSpeed FI Custom Engine Program

 

 
Utilizing our high performance internal engine components, ScienceofSpeed offers a custom engine program for increased power through turbo and supercharged forced induction.

In our turn key program, ScienceofSpeed will tear-down, modify, and rebuild engine. In addition to high performance modification, all wear items including seals, gaskets, & bearings are replaced to bring engine to fully rebuilt condition. Once completed, engine is ready for installation.

Turn-key program includes new timing belt. New water pump and oil pump can be added. Individual components of packages can be purchased separately by "clicking for detail". Engine potential bhp ratings are at the crank and as with all high power engine builds, durability largely depends on tuning and care of engine.

Stage 1 (3.0L): 500 whp
Factory cylinder block, forged pistons, rebushed floating pin factory connecting rods, head studs, rebuilt cylinder heads, complete seal, gasket, and bearing replacement (3.0L NSX only).
Stage 2 (3.0L or 3.2L): 550+ whp
Sleeved cylinder block, forged pistons, rebushed floating pin factory connecting rods, head studs, rebuilt cylinder heads, complete seal, gasket, and bearing replacement.
Stage 3
(3.5L stroker): 650+ whp
The ultimate NSX powerplant. Sleeved cylinder block, forged pistons, billet stroker connecting rods, billet stroker crankshaft, billet main caps, main stud, rebuilt cylinder heads, complete seal, gasket, and bearing replacement. Precision balanced rotating assembly.
 
ScienceofSpeed Engine Package Details:
   
Stage 1 (3.0L): 500 wheel / 570 crankshaft HP
turn-key assembled package: $5,680.00  

Engine design for 500 wheel horsepower (570 crankshaft hp). Retains factory cast iron sleeves. This package is designed for 3.0L engines only (3.2L engines are equipped with FRM cylinder blocks and must be sleeved - see Stage 2).

Engine design for 550 wheel horsepower (620 crankshaft hp). In addition to the Stage 1 build, the Stage 2 build adds Big flange stepped sleeve with radius machined circumference, balanced & blueprinted rotating assembly, and ARP head studs.

Stage 3 is the ultimate NSX powerplant. Featuring a sleeved 93mm cyclinder block and rotating assembly stroked to 86mm, the stage 3 engine increases engine displacement to 3.5L. In addition, the engine receives several reinforced components and additional engine processing to support the power this engine is capable of. The increased stroke produces increased torque and allows turbochargers to spool faster.

These parts should be considered with any of these builds:  
  • new factory water pump if it is time for it to be replaced
  • Locking Timing Belt Tensioner - highly recommended for higher horsepower applications
  • Lost Motion Assembly kit - we recommend replacement at 80k+ miles or for any NSX with aftermarket camshafts - will not wear like factory LMAs
  • valve springs & titanium retainers - recommended for track or higher horsepower applications where rapid acceleration / wheel slip may cause over reving or hitting rev limiter often
  • billet oil pump gear - replaces factory sintered metal gear with billet steel gear - recommended for track or higher horsepower applications where rapid acceleration / wheel slip may cause over reving or hitting rev limiter often
  • forced induction camshafts - allows valve timing and lift to be optimized for forced induction use. Typical gains are more than 8-10% over an engine prepared with factory camshafts
