Oil starvation is the number one cause of
engine damage that we see for the NSX. During high speed cornering,
braking, and acceleration experienced under high performance driving,
oil sloshes away from the oil pick up point in the oil pan which may
cause the oil pick up to run dry. This baffle is inexpensive insurance
against expensive engine repair.
This baffle is designed to rest immediately above a running engine's oil
level in the pan to keep oil at the bottom of the pan available to the
pick up. The baffle, manufactured from stainless steel, envelopes the
oil pick up to keep oil trapped at the bottom of the pan. The baffle
also features chamfered drain holes and a block to prevent slosh under
right hand cornering.
The baffle attaches to the pan by welding four tabs that secure the
baffle in place. ScienceofSpeed offers a core-exchange program for
customers who do not have access to a shop that offers welding (see
below). Replacement of the drain bolt sealing washer and oil pan gasket
is recommended (available below). |

ScienceofSpeed offers a core exchange
program for customers interested in the oil pan baffle that do not have
access to a shop with welding capability. ScienceofSpeed will weld the
baffle in place into a core oil pan, chemically strip the oil pan, and
powdercoat (gloss red) for a like-new appearance. In
addition, we include a new oil drain bolt and sealing washer. For
