NSX > EPP > Taitec JGTC Rear Underbody Diffuser

Understand the importance of diffusers by reading this page from Formula1.com

The 1998 season of JGTC was the year that the racing NSXes first showed their dominance. This was the last season where rear (after-rear wheels) underbody aerodynamic aids utilized on JGTC racecars were allowed. DOME (pronounced: dou-mei) in conjunction with MUGEN developed a serious racing aerodynamic package for the NSX which propelled the team's NSX from the bottom 9th finishing position in the 1997 season to the 2nd podium finish in 1998.

TAITEC has taken an important part of this well developed, race-winning aerodynamic package and adopted it to the street going NSX. The technology is simple and effective. The power of the underbody aerodynamic aid cannot be overlooked. Placement of under-carriage air-channeling features are becoming more and more common place on street-cars, allowing manufactures to control high-speed performance dynamics under the car, versus above the body line with large obtrusive spoilers. Modern exotic automobiles utilizing underbody technology include the Ferrari F355, 360, F40, F50, Jaguar XJ220, among others. The design utilizes carefully sculpted channels that manage under-car airflow. Unlike other haphazard so called "diffusers" that do not have smooth channels for air to properly flow, the TAITEC Rear Diffuser actually works.

The TAITEC aerodynamic rear underbody diffuser is constructed with the finest carbon-fiber or kevlar-fiber composite material that ensures its rigidity, reliability, and lightness. This is sophisticated down force technology without ungodly rear wings. This product has been track tested both in Japan and in the United States extensively. The TAITEC Underbody Diffuser will hopefully be a contributing factor to TAITEC's success in this year's Japanese racing program.

Here is a comment made by a professional Japanese racecar driver, T. Tsuchiya when he drove the TAITEC diffuser equipped NSX around the famous Tsukuba test track in Japan:

“The aerodynamic modification achieved a level of stability that is unbelievably satisfying!”

The TAITEC aerodynamic rear underbody diffuser is made to fit with the TAITEC Center-Exit Exhaust system. Due to the finely tuned aerodynamics of the Underbody Diffuser, only the Center-Out Exhaust system should be used for optimal and predictable results.

The JGTC Underbody Diffuser is used on Team TAITEC's own race NSX
