JRZ RS & RS Pro

 

JRZ RS & RS Pro Suspension System

 
The RS & RS Pro shock absorbers have been developed from many years of professional racing experience by JRZ. The RS & RS Pro feature many of the same features as the full featured racing dampers intended for the dual purpose street driven & club racing vehicle.
 

JRZ RS Suspension System:
The RS damper allows for external adjustment of both the rebound and compression functions of the damper. The RS dampers are double adjustable allowing precision adjustment of both low speed compression and rebound. The RS does not utilize a separate canister. The RS has both the rebound and compression adjustments on the damper itself with twelve adjustable settings.

JRZ RS Pro Suspension System:
The next level above the RS is the RS Pro Suspension System. The RS Pro is more similar to the full featured JRZ racing damper than the RS - featuring a mono tube shock absorber and remove reservoirs for increased fluid capacity and heat control featuring separate compression and rebound adjustment. Note: photo above is stock photo not showing NSX lower mount.
 
how the shock absorbers are sold:
Because JRZ manufactures and supplies the shock absorber only,  ScienceofSpeed offers the bare shock absorbers alone, or as a complete kit.
  • bare shock absorbers - bare shock absorbers only. User must supply top mounts, mounting hardware, and spring set.
  • complete kit - complete bolt-on kit including shock absorbers, top mounts (two options, see below), mounting hardware, main springs, spring joiner plate, and helper springs. ScienceofSpeed includes premium Hyperco springs with an exclusive helper spring design with increase spring block height (pictured below) - eliminates contact between spring perch and joiner plate under full compression. This design is lighter weight than a tender spring commonly used by other suppliers. The customer may use our recommended spring rates, or elect to use any other spring rate at no additional charge.

 
top mounts:
ScienceofSpeed offers two top mount options included in the complete kits. ScienceofSpeed utilizes an exclusive shaft design to allow the shock absorber to be utilized with either the factory top mount or a machined billet aluminum top mount with a spherical monoball bearing.
  • factory top mount kit
    The factory top mounts are ideal for most applications. The factory design uses a stiff elastomer bushing and steel washer. This high performance design reduces noise and vibration to the chassis while providing excellent control of the shock absorber. The kit includes a set of machined billet stainless steel sleeves that replaces the factory sleeve allowing the JRZ shock absorber to be used with the factory top mount bushing.  The customer must drill the factory top mount bushing's steel washers (alternatively, a set of eight new factory bushings and modified steel washers for customers that do not wish to modify their bushing washers). The existing factory top mount plates are reused.
  • machined aluminum top mount kit
    For dedicated track use where increased noise and vibration from rigid mounting is not an issue, this kit includes a set of four machined billet aluminum top mounts with spherical monoball bearings and billet steel step bushings.
