TEIN
has over 20 years of suspension tuning experience and is one of Japan's largest
aftermarket suspension manufactures.
Type Flex: The Type-Flex suspension is latest design offered by TEIN.
FLEX is a more economical suspension
that uses a steel body construction versus aluminum and a more economical twin
tube damper; but still offers a high
level of suspension response.
The Type-FLEX utilizes special upper mounts which
allow the use of the EDFC controller (see below). The Type-FLEX suspension is
easy to install and adjust. Ride height is adjusted with a spring perch. Compression and rebound is
adjusted on a single adjuster with 16 useable positions.
Type Mono Flex: The newly introduced Mono Flex is TEIN's most advanced
coil-over damper for the NSX. The internals of the Mono Flex are completely
different than the standard Type Flex.
The Mono features a mono gas tube that increases damper response time and
increases the consistency of the performance once the dampers begins to heat up
from aggressive driving.
New to the TEIN line is the micro speed valve which adds a separate valve for
low speed compression. In addition to better suspension response by
independently tuning the damper for different damper response speeds, the MSV
valve eliminates the "pogoing" during straight line constant speed (ie. driving
on freeway) associated to older TEIN systems and other aftermarket suspensions.
The Mono Flex suspension is valved slightly more aggressively than the standard
Flex and is ideal for street & track use.
The Mono Flex has the same 16-way adjustment and is compatible with the EDFC
system.
EDFC controller: TEIN's new Electronic Damper Force Controller allows in
car adjustment of the suspension's valving. An in-car control unit (see photo)
controls independent servo motors at each corner. The driver may select between
user-defined pre-set levels, or adjust within a 16 position range. The EDFC
system is compatible with the Type Flex and Mono Flex suspensions only.
NEW FOR 2006!
The EDFC controller is now black. The servo motors and most importantly - the
servo motor wire extensions are now longer - no cutting required to install!
