The
Moton Club Sport brings a high performance shock absorber technology used by top
Grand-Am, Le Mans, and GT Championship race teams to the Club Sport
racer.
The Club Sport shock absorber uses the same technology as the
Moton Motorsport shock absorber with the
only difference being 2-way adjustment (separate low speed compression
and rebound) instead of 3-way and 4-way adjustment. Version 2 now adds
15 positions of low speed compression and rebound) for fine tuning. |

high performance suspension shock absorbers:
Thirty five years of experience and technical development are bound
together in each shock absorber manufactured by Moton. Moton shock
absorbers have been honed on race circuits all over the world in many
different disciplines including Grand-Am, Le Mans, GT Championship, and
other top race series.
The Moton shock absorber uses a large 22 mm piston rod / 44mm piston
monotube design to
provide maximum fluid displacement at small suspension movement allowing
control during the slightest movements of the suspension. More fluid
displacement caused by the cross section of the large piston rod
combined with the gas pressure in the remote reservoir results in added
lifting force on each corner of the car to support the main spring
without increasing the spring rate. The result in increased chassis
control with out the need to utilize heavy spring rates.

The Club Sport shock absorbers feature: |
- large 22mm piston rod / 44mm

- large piston allows control for even minute shock absorber travel.
- external reservoirs with remote
lines - offer superior fluid temperature control with an advanced
compression adjusting mechanism in the remote reservoir.
- swivel banjo fittings -
allows movement and best positioning of the high pressure hoses
(swivels provided on both ends of hose).
- S2000-specific - lightweight
machined billet aluminum shock absorber bodies & forks - allows
increased shock absorber travel by eliminating the use of "universal"
shock absorbers requiring adjusting lower mounts used by other brands
that decrease suspension travel. Threaded body allows ride height
adjustment.

how the shock absorbers are sold:
Because
Moton manufactures and supplies the shock absorber only,
ScienceofSpeed offers the bare shock absorbers alone, or as a complete
kit. |
- bare shock absorbers - bare
shock absorbers only. User must supply top mounts, mounting hardware,
and spring set.
- complete kit - complete
bolt-on kit including shock absorbers, top mounts (two options, see
below), mounting hardware, main springs, spring joiner plate, and
helper springs. ScienceofSpeed includes premium Hyperco springs with
an exclusive helper spring design with increase spring block height
(pictured below) - eliminates contact between spring perch and joiner
plate under full compression. This design is lighter weight than a
tender spring commonly used by other suppliers. The customer may use
our recommended spring rates, or elect to use any other spring rate at
no additional charge.

top mounts:
ScienceofSpeed offers two top mount options included in the complete
kits. ScienceofSpeed utilizes an exclusive shaft design to allow the
shock absorber to be utilized with either the factory top mount or a
machined billet aluminum top mount with a spherical monoball bearing.

- factory top mount kit
The factory top mounts are ideal for most applications. The
factory design uses a stiff elastomer bushing vulcanized to a steel
washer. This high performance design reduces noise and vibration to
the chassis while providing excellent control of the shock absorber.
The kit includes a set of machined billet
stainless steel sleeves that replaces the factory sleeve allowing the Moton
shock absorber to be used with the factory top mount bushing. The customer must
drill the factory top mount bushing's steel washers (alternatively, a set of eight new
factory bushings
modified by ScienceofSpeed are offered
for customers that do not wish to modify their bushings). The
existing factory top mount plates are reused.
- machined aluminum top mount kit
For dedicated track use where increased noise and vibration from
rigid mounting is not an issue, this kit includes a set of four machined
billet aluminum top mounts with spherical monoball bearings and billet steel
step bushings.
