The factory exhaust manifolds (headers) feature a cast iron (1991-96) and tubular (1997-05) design that restricts airflow. Upgrading the factory manifolds and exhaust has long been a popular way to increase power from the NSX engine. Now, with the ScienceofSpeed's Advanced Headers, significant gains beyond prior designs can be realized - 25+ horsepower naturally aspirated and 40+ horsepower supercharged!
A gain of nearly 10% horsepower on a naturally aspirated 3.0 and 3.2L engine makes a significant increase in acceleration on a lightweight vehicle like the NSX!
The evolution of the ScienceofSpeed Version 2 Advanced Headers:
Building upon our popular Advanced Headers, ScienceofSpeed has produced a clean sheet exhaust header design using modern technology.
We focused on the collector design using CAD modeling to optimize exhaust flow approach angle and increase the merge area cross section. In addition, by nearly equalizing tube length and volume within the packaging constraints of the NSX engine bay, we have been able to optimize cylinder scavenging to produce the best power gains of any aftermarket header we have tested. Factory exhaust manifolds were used to verify dimensional accuracy on prototypes, and rigid fixtures ensure factory-quality fitment.
Fitment, Durability, Proudly Made in the USA:
Fitment and fabrication quality vary significantly from brand to brand of headers for the NSX. ScienceofSpeed has gone through great lengths to verify fitment on all variations of NSX and to produce fixtures that ensure consistent products. While all other exhaust headers now offered are made overseas, ScienceofSpeed produces these headers in-house by our craftsmen using USA-made stainless steel, which allows us to guarantee fitment and durability of this product.

Ceramic coating:
ScienceofSpeed Advanced Headers produce decreased heat radiation compared to the factory exhaust manifolds. Additional heat shielding or coating is not required. However, for customers looking for the ultimate heat barrier solution, Cerakote Ceramic Coating is offered in satin black and satin silver. These coatings add a heat barrier to further reduce heat transfer to the engine bay for extreme applications.
