ScienceofSpeed Forged Aluminum Pistons are the most advanced forged pistons available for the NSX. This design is based on years of development with the NSX C30A and C32B engines. These forged pistons, manufactured from NSX-specific forgings, feature increased strength, decreased weight, and a proprietary Xylan skirt coating. 

Available in popular bore and compression ratios for naturally aspirated and forced induction (turbocharger and supercharger) applications - the pistons can also be custom-made to your requirement (see "custom configurable pistons" below)

Important notes:

  • The C30A (3.0L) engine features an iron cylinder liner with a 90.0mm bore from the factory. Used cylinder blocks must be bored and honed to produce a true circular bore. Pistons are available in 90.5mm for this reason. If a bore size larger than 90.5mm is required, the cylinder block should be resleeved.
  • The C32B (3.2L) engine features a fiber-reinforced-metal cylinder liner. This liner is not compatible with these pistons. The engines must be resleeved with iron liners.
  • Compression ratios are calculated based on a deck height of 221.4mm (8.717") for the C30A and 221.9mm (8.736") for the C32B. This includes a 0.1mm allowance for decking. Additional decking is possible however, changes to deck height will impact the compression ratio (and timing belt geometry). For cylinder blocks or heads with severe warpage, a custom head gasket set available from ScienceofSpeed may be used to retain factory belt geometry. Contact ScienceofSpeed for assistance.
  • Compression ratios are calculated based on using head gaskets with a factory thickness. Click here for head gasket information. 
  • The factory rods can be used after they are bushed for the proper pin size.  We offer that service here.
  • You may also use aftermarket rods with the correct size pin.  We offer these.

  • cylinder bore: choose 90.5mm (typically used with C30A only) or 93.0mm.
  • compression ratio: choose 10.2:1 (factory compression, for naturally aspirated or forced induction up to 400 BHP) or 9.2:1 (for forced induction in excess of 400 BHP).
