The ethanol monitoring kit allows you to view ethanol content in your fuel in real-time. This is beneficial when using the KTuner Stage 2 calibration, which requires either race fuel (98+ octane) or E40 FlexFuel (91 or 93 octane mixed with ethanol FlexFuel). Unlike race fuel, where there is no way to "see" the octane level, ethanol content can be monitored with a sensor. This takes the guess work out of mixing fuels.
The ScienceofSpeed Ethanol Monitor Kit includes a sensor with braided stainless steel hoses and fittings that plumb in line into the factory fuel system. No permanent modifications are required. The kit includes a wireless transmitter that allows you to view the ethanol content in real-time with the app included at no additional charge. The sensor & transmitter attach to factory mounting points using the included brackets. The kit is plug-and-play with the included electrical harness.
The Ethanol Monitor Kit does not connect directly to the ECU (the NSX ECU design does not currently allow sensor feedback to be directly connected). Instead, using the app, you can add ethanol FlexFuel until the desired mixture is achieved. Once installed, using E40 FlexFuel and the KTuner Stage 2, your NSX race car can produce more than 130 horsepower gains compared to an all-factory standard NSX (an example dyno plot is provided in the gallery).
