These supercharger drive pulleys are designed for the ScienceofSpeed Paxton 1200/1220 based Supercharger System and Comptech Supercharger Systems retrofitted with this kit (this pulley is compatible with CT-Engineering Novi 1200/1220 based supercharger kits with removal of a washer behind original pulley).

Proper belt engagement is crucial as a slipping belt will cause the supercharger to not spin reducing power. In several years of installing these supercharger systems on the S2000, we have found what design and materials work best. Compared to other pulleys available - these pulleys fit right on the shaft of the supercharger (no grinding or sanding required), feature a belt guide that prevents belt movement, and feature a durable yet high traction anodize finish that reduces belt slip.

ScienceofSpeed pulleys have extra flat "teeth" that aid measuring diameter. ScienceofSpeed pulleys are engraved with diameter sizes & part numbers to prevent confusion.

approximate pressure at redline (at sea level, at stock compression)
PLEASE NOTE: These numbers vary drastically based on air density, intake efficiency, and charge cooler design, so they should only be used as a very rough guide and are provided as an estimate only.

3.0" n/a 12   3.0" n/a 16

As a very general rule of thumb, with all things being equal our testing has shown:
each increase of 0.2" of pulley size results in a pressure increase of 1 - 1.5 PSI (in the most efficient operating area of the supercharger)
each increase of 1000 RPM results in a pressure increase of 1 PSI
Each 1 point of compression loss results in 1 PSI of pressure loss
However, this again varies by a number of factors - including air density, intake efficiency, and charge cooler design, so they should only be used as a very rough guide.

standard ScienceofSpeed Supercharger Configuration Pulleys:

  • Stage 1 2.0L: 1220 4.8" (approx 6 PSI)
  • Stage 1 2.2L: 1220 4.4" (approx 6 PSI)
  • Stage 2 2.0L: 1220 4.0" (approx 9 PSI)
  • Stage 2 2.2L: 1220 3.8" (approx 9 PSI)

Please note that supporting fuel system (fuel & ignition controller / stand alone engine management, injectors, regulator, & fuel pump) are required.

AP1 (2.0L, 9000 RPM) should not use smaller than 3.2", AP2 (2.2L, 8000 RPM) should not use smaller than 3.0".

drive belts:

Different pulleys will require a different belt. The following belts are provided by ScienceofSpeed. For the belt listing page (click here)

CT Supercharger System:

Please note these pulleys are compatible with Comptech / CT-Engineering NOVI 1220/1200 based Supercharger systems. Customers should remove the spacer installed behind the original pulley during installation. For a NOVI 1000 pulley (click here)
