The ScienceofSpeed RR-MAX Turbocharger System is ScienceofSpeed's latest advancement for the S2000 platform, built on over 20 years of experience. The ScienceofSpeed RR-MAX Turbocharger System is unmatched in its performance, innovation, completeness, and attention to detail.

RR-MAX Innovation:

Building on our experience of turbocharging the S2000 since 2013, the RR-MAX creates a new standard for maximizing performance through the use of a reverse rotation turbocharger. The opposite rotation allows the turbocharger's exhaust manifold to have a more gradual flow path into the turbine housing - not only improving spool - but also increasing the efficiency of the manifold to have a much broader horsepower envelope - ideal for the high volumetric and high RPM S2000 engine. Premium turbochargers are included from Forced Performance with available Xona Rotor center sections.

Factory quality fitment:

The S2000 engine bay presents its own packaging challenges, and the use of the reverse rotation turbocharger required an innovative approach to the design of the exhaust manifold. Please note: this kit is currently only tested for left-hand drive (LHD) S2000. A RHD kit will be evaluated. Please contact us for more information if you have a RHD S2000.

Options

Turbocharger Options:
  • FP 73mm-475 Journal Bearing Turbocharger (recommended for 375-475 BHP)
This is not your standard journal bearing turbocharger! Featuring up-rated materials and increased contact surface area, this journal bearing will take a beating and outlast any factory-style turbocharger. This turbocharger will produce 375 BHP at the engine (approximately 340 wheel horsepower) with 91-octane pump fuel and up to 475 BHP (approximately 440 wheel horsepower) with high test fuel (such as E85 FlexFuel). This is the fastest spooling option offered (approximately 400 RPM faster spool time than the 73mm-550). This is the ideal turbocharger selection for street or autocross use, making it the best choice for most customers. It's also the best fit for applications that will run on wastegate pressure only, without a boost control solenoid.

  • FP 73mm-550 Journal Bearing Turbocharger (recommended for 375-500 BHP)
The 73mm-550 features a larger turbine wheel than the 73mm-475 producing more turbine flow at the slight expense of spool time. This turbocharger will produce 400 BHP at the engine (approximately 370 wheel horsepower) with 91-octane pump fuel and up to 550 BHP (approximately 500 wheel horsepower) with high test fuel (such as E85 FlexFuel). Its the ideal choice for a customer wanting more power overhead compared to the 73mm-475 turbocharger.

  • FP 73mm-550 Xona Rotor Ball Bearing Turbocharger (recommended for 375-500 BHP)
For extreme motorsports circuit racing, where high oil temperatures may be experienced, the Xona Rotor center section adds ball bearings for increased durability and even faster spool times (200-300 RPM). This turbocharger uses the same compressor and turbine wheel as the standard journal bearing 73mm-550 and produces the same flow and power.

  • FP 76mm-600 Xona Rotor Ball Bearing Turbocharger (recommended for 425-600 BHP)
For high-horsepower builds, this turbocharger flows approximately 10% more air mass at the same manifold pressure with a minimal decrease in spool time. This turbocharger will produce 425 BHP at the engine (approximately 400 wheel horsepower) with 91-octane pump fuel and up to 600 BHP (typically 550 wheel horsepower) with high test fuel (such as E85 FlexFuel). This turbocharger increases air mass flow compared to the 73mm turbocharger, and is intended for built engines, or engines that will only be used with high test fuel. It is not recommended for factory engines that will be used with 91 octane fuel.

Ceramic Coating:

The turbine housing, manifold, and downpipe components are manufactured from stainless steel alloys, so a coating for corrosion protection is not required. For those looking for the ultimate thermal retention, Cerakote Glacier Ceramic Coating is available for the turbine housing, manifold, and downpipe. Choose from black or silver. Cerakote Glacier coatings are stable up to 1800 °F. Colors may dull from high heavy-duty applications or may wear when air/fuel mixtures are not properly controlled.

V-mount intercooler & twin pass radiator:

A front-mounted intercooler is included by default. As an option, the front-mounted intercooler can be replaced with a V-mounted solution, which splits the intercooler and radiator into a V-formation, significantly increasing airflow through the radiator and intercooler. This is the ideal configuration for circuit track use. Click here for more information.
